PIMS Implementation Program

PIMS International B.V. proposes to divide the full PIMS implementation project in the following 7 phases:

The phased approach for the implementation of a Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) is based on the experience of former PIMS implementation projects managed by PIMS International B.V. staff:

Phase 0:	A 2-day (1,5 + 0,5) workshop on PIMS awareness (management). PIMS - awareness program, common practice and legal requirements / developments.
Phase 1:	Base line review. Inventory of current practice on PIMS in the company.
Phase 2:	Definition of the Threat Remediation Action Plan for Pipelines (TRAP) in the company. • Inventory of current practice (remediation) on threat mitigation in the company. • Semi-quantification of the reducing effect of mitigation measures on threat levels.
Phase 3:	Development of the Level 2 Pipeline Integrity Management System. Evaluation and development of PIMS policy, strategy en performance indicators on the basis of actual and future PIMS processes in the company.
Phase 4:	Development of the Level 3 Pipeline Integrity Management System. Development of PIMS methodology, procedures, reporting requirements and operating practise in the company including gab analyses.
Phase 5:	IT Architecture. Definition of the Future Systems Model with a description of current and desired IT environment / systems and interfacing and the way how to get there.
Phase 6:	PIMS scope. Definition of the required PIMS functionality (scope) in the company, verification by a pilot study, software and supplier selection.
Phase 7:	Implementation. Customization & Implementation of the selected PIMS package, development of interfaces, data gathering / cleaning, training, roll-out.
